JING WANG

Jing Wang, visual artist born in 1983 in Changsha, China. At the age of 19, she left her studies in economics to pursue her artistic vocation in France. In 2010, she graduated with the congratulations of the jury at the École Supérieure d'Art et de Design Grenoble Valence. The artist has lived and worked since 2014 in Paris where some of his works are prized by institutions and collectors.

In her best-known works, we find the short film: "If my eyes were still black", with which she won one of the Public Prize of the Unknown Festival Paris in 2014.

His performance “Family dinner” was performed at the Musée de la Nature et de la Chasse in Paris in 2014.

In October 2019, invited by Asia Now, to the contemporary art fair in Paris, with the participation of children, Jing Wang produced the performance Océan Blanc.

Jing Wang works mainly on individual and collective memory, as well as on the perception of "truth" in everyday life. With poetry and humor, she explores visual forms, offers narratives between fiction and reality, decentre the gaze by introducing a part of enigma and hope.
