Raul Rodrigo Diaz

Raul Rodrigo Diaz towards instant photography started as a battle against the digital age, and has grown into a lifelong experience.

Born in Chile, Raul studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York, then at the Corcoran School of Arts in Washington DC between 1988 and 1995. In 1997, he left for France where he assisted several big names in photography. fashion and advertising, including Stéphane Sednaoui and Jean-Baptiste Mondino.
The enrichment acquired during this period allowed him to publish his first portraits and fashion series for French and international magazines, as well as to present his photos in multiple Parisian and European exhibitions.

Diaz's work on Polaroid focuses on fashion and the female nude allowing his imaginary tales to be told that he might not otherwise get. His images show a combination of glamor, nostalgia. The result is evocative photographs that blur the line between the sexual and the sensual.
