Xavier Vantaggi
Xavier Vantaggi was born in 1957 in France in Châlons-en-Champagne.
In 1985, he graduated from the National School of Fine Arts in Paris. Between 1987 and 1991, he stayed in Italy, in a small town in Ombre, Gubbio. The artist returns there every year for brief but intense moments of work.
Today, he lives and works mainly in Paris.
He participates in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries, but also in public spaces, in Europe, but also in Seoul, Tel Aviv, Los Angeles, Mexico City and recently Beijing.
In 2016, in France, Xavier Vantaggi made an exhibition at the Galerie Montparnasse, entitled Le Monde de autre. Lately, during La Nuit Blanche, he produced an installation on the forecourt of the MPAA Broussais, the theme of which was "Le Franchissement".
He designs various scenographies for the theater, including "Le Partisan", adapted from Lettres de prison d'A. Gramsci staged by François Floris at the TGP of Saint Denis, La Mandragore, Tartuffe, Le Tunnel, En ce temps-là love staged by Didier Weill for the Sens theater, and more recently "Un amour à Tien An Men "by Thierry Laurent directed by François Floris at the Festival d'Avignon. In 2019, the artist once again participates in the Affordable Art Fair in Milan with the Bear Galerie.
